Very interesting, and a little sobering to see the data suggest that a lot of calls get busted.
Most of my Dx'ing is on CW and my call isn't the best for CW, ending in an "E" which tends to get lost. When I applied for a vanity call years ago, my preference turned out to be already taken so they just gave me N3AE. One of my ham radio nightmares is someday having a valid operation from North Korea and after hours of trying, I finally work him but he copies me as N3AT or something.
