Sounds really good to me. I started a Facebook page for my ex-Reserve
unit and it is a great way to keep in touch and share info and pictures and
such.

A bagpipe placed on your picnic table will keep campsites on either side
vacant.

Hello ladies and gentlemen,
Dew to the ever increasing popularity of social networks, ie Facebook,
Google +, Yahoo Groups etc..., on the internet. I would like to get your
thoughts on the idea of having a page to increase exposure of the Calvert
Amateur Radio Association (CARA). I am aware that many of you do not use these
networks and may feel they are not inportant or have little to no value to
CARA. Just some info about Facebook. There are over 800 million Facebook
users world wide. 2,860,100 of them live in Maryland. Over 30,000 of them live
in Calvert County, thats 34% of the population! About 8000 "Like"(a way to
link your page to others) the Calvert County Facebook page. What all this
means is that there are many of thousands of people that use this tool and I
think there is no downside to a little free advertising. I am able to
create and maintain a page like this at no cost. It would be largely based and
linked to the CARA website.
I hope that you think about what I will be proposing on thursday night. If
you have any questions or concerns about this, please bring them up at the
next meeting if I get the floor.
