Jack, Thank you my friend, I and maybe one other that do not use facebook
applaud you by putting this out. I am sure this will bring some spectators
to see the works.

I'm afraid that yahoo calvert_ARES group is the extent of my social
networking other than CARA that is.

Thanks again for the feedback have to button up for the storm coming in
now.

Best Regards,

Jim Tetlow

none FB users I copied the text and pasted it below

ARRL Field Day K3CAL Public Event . By Aham Kbthreewum

Invite Friends

When June 23 at 12:00pm until June 24 at 3:00pm

Where Broomes Island community center 4080 School Rd

Get Directions

Details This is a public event. Anyone who is an amateur radio operator or
wants to learn more about what ham radio is about is welcome to come on
down. Even if you're not a license ham radio operator, you will be able to
"Get On The Air" from the GOTA station. The purpose of field day is to
simulate emergency radio communications. In the past, there has many times
when amateur radio has been a life line when all else has failed. Recently
the mid Atlantic earthquake overloded the phone systems in the aera. The
7.0Mw earthquake in 2010, destroyed most of the island country of Haiti and
telephone and electricity was down for days. 2005, hirricane Katrina, blew
down much of the systems of the gulf coast. In all of these, and many more,
events it was the ham radio operators dependably relaying news and
information to other parts of the world. The Calvert County Amateur Radio
Association (CARA) will be hoasting the Broomes Island location. CARA will
use the association's call sign, K3CAL, for this event. They will be running
alpha 4, 4 separate stations, for the whole duration of field day. Those 4
stations do not include the GOTA and the talk in stations. So come one, come
all. Stay for as long as you wish. Have a hot dog and see what amateur radio
community is all about.

Hope this helps. 73s
