Wayne,
Just what I've been looking for. I'm interested but not experienced.
Have played around with Ham Radio Deluxe and DigiPan but not seriously. So,
count me in.

In our strategic plan we have a number of objectives that relate to the
establishment of digital messaging capability in our county. It makes sense
at this time to put our heads together on this. I am proposing to set up a
group to help make this happen.
Calvert ARES Digital SIG - The purpose of the group is to get our heads
together and make some decisions about (1) what is needed in terms of
infrastructure, (2) what modes and technologies we should focus on, (3) how to
progressively grow the capability, (4) how to get a number of our ARES
operators equipped, and (5) how to train all operators, including casual operators
in digital techniques. This will be a low pressure effort - we're not in
competition to see how fast we can get this going. We already have some
capability in the county and the idea is to leverage what we have, supplement
it with what we can get from the county and encourage ARES members to get
equipped. We would like to see some digital messaging in place and
practiced before the serious hurricanes come our way (August).
Please respond to Wayne N1WR if you are interested (my email address is in
