B#2, Good Question!

 

I phones and Androids will work Echo-Link, if you download the programs. 

 

I don't think Echo-Link is active on our repeater now, although we voted to
make it active again a few meetings back.

Steve N3IDX wanted the club's ok to activate it again, but I don't think it
is up yet.

I don't think however, that you can communicate through the phone link to
the repeater and talk to a repeater radio link on the same repeater (did I
say that right?). 

 

Maybe Steve or someone else can give us the answer.

 

If he has a laptop or notebook and downloads the echo-link program, gets
registered, has Wi-Fi or direct internet connection, uses a mike and headset
he can hit the repeater (delay) but that is allot of equipment, so the phone
may be easier.

 

Let's see what the Elmer's say!
