Hello all.
First, I'm new to the list. Reason for joining is I'll be receiving a new
(for me) NRD-525 next week. It's supposed to have the CW filter etc and
I'll know more when it gets here (seller is hand carrying it to me).
I've read a little about the "hissy" audio etc. At the present time (and
for the past 3 years) my primary listening interest is NDB's (Longwave CW
beacons of 200-525kHz) and I nearly always use an outdoor antenna, good
audio filter and headphones that should take care of any 'hiss'.
I would like to hear any remarks, pro and con about this receiver,
especially as it pertains to my listening habits. I'm used to listening
with the narrowest possible CW bandwidths and am curious as to the
performance of the PBT. Also, is there a notch filter? I couldn't see one
mentioned in any of the reviews I read.
If somebody could direct me to some sites where I could obtain more info
than was available at DXing.com I'd appreciate it.
