[JRC] CHE-199 Sensitivity

I have had the NRD-545 and the CHE-199 for a few years now, and am just
recently using the wideband converter.

I am wondering if all of these converters are pretty well deaf, or whether I
might have a bad one. Any experience anyone might have with one of these
converters would be helpful. I had hoped to have decent sensitivity in the
VHF and UHF range.

If it indeed appears that there is a problem with mine, where does one send
these for repairs? I would hope that the CHE-199 could be worked on by
itself. I can't see sending the radio along to get damaged in shipment.

Any ideas or help will be greatly appreciated.
