One other thing.  When you put it on the air on AM and if you find you 
experience some FMing, Immediately know you have a poor grounding 
connection through the VFO shaft to the VFO knob at the bearing.  ((RF 
floats on the shaft into the VFO to produce FMing. You must then have a 
clean bearing and shaft connection to get rid of the FMing of your AM 
signal.)  This is a very common problem with a Ranger.
