[Johnson] Power on surge

I have put inrush current limiters in all units I service, sure the
resistance decreases very fast but what it does do is eliminate the first
high current cycles of current being drawn by the affected unit. The
second thing it does is drop the voltage to the transformer by a volt or
two. Both good things. The inrush current limiters are not expensive
compared to the good that they do. They come in different max current
sizes. The things do get warm so they must be mounted where they won't
harm something by the heat. You will notice the lack of a "thunk" right
away. You can also drop the size of the line fuse to a more reasonable
value at the same time because the inrush current is not there anymore,
just the average current that the unit uses. Saves on wear on the on/off
switch also.
