There are two kinds of color in tubes of the 6146 sort:

- glow WITHIN the tube elements.  The glow is between the plate and the grids.  This indicates a gassy tube and is a problem.

- glow ON the INSIDE of the glass envelope.  This is somewhat common and is due to electrons hitting the inside of the envelope after they escape the plate structure.  This is NOT a problem and can usually be ignored.

You may not remember clearly where the bluish glow in your one tube was located, but it may not harm much to turn the transmitter on and run the high voltage long enough to see.
