 Solid #12 or #14 wire fits snugly into the socket.


I soldered stranded lamp cord to an appropriate length of solid wire and covered the joint and wire with heat shrink tubing.
Leave just enough solid wire exposed to fit into the socket.

URRG!?? Does anyone have a positive, non-loosening, method to make a 
connection to the 120V accessory socket (really a crystal holder) on the 
back of a Johnson transmitter that doesn't involve replacing the 
socket??? If you have to replace the socket, suggestions?
