Actually the simplest way is to use the twin ceramix terminals on the rear of the chassis,they provide 115V ac for a ant relay ,just like the rest of the johnson transmitters.Page 7 of the manual explains this,under 13.a antenna relay operation.I think the manuals are fine,

The simplest way is to connect two leads, one to each side of the primary
of the HV transformer. Run these two leads to your 115 AC volt Dow Key
coil terminals. When you flip the plate switch to transmit, the Dow Key
will be energized.
