[Johnson] kit building instructions for Valiant VFO

I
 have a Viking Valiant that needs work on the VFO. It is very cramped 
and difficult to get to the wiring on the terminal strip and that going 
to the components such as variable capacitor and others.

Is there
 a way to remove the top portion to get to the wiring on the terminal 
strip that will enable getting to the terminal strip area and then 
putting everything back as it was.

I don't have the kit 
wiring/building instructions, for the VFO portion, and would like to 
have them to assist me in this VFO work. 

Can someone give me 
some tips for getting to the VFO wiring on the terminal strip more 
conveniently? Does anyone have the VFO assembly and VFO wiring 
instructions that you might share with me?
