The articles Pete provided will take care of your needs. Replacing the final with a 2E26 won't reduce the power simply through replacement, it only reduces the power capability. Unless your 6146 is bad there is no need to replace it.
You have a great deal more freedom since you only plan to operate it on CW at low power, under these conditions final drive and loading for proper modulation do not come into play so you can reduce the power quite a bit through reducing drive and loading. I do this to drive my Desk KW, since the Desk requires separate RF and audio drive this method works fine. It would not be suitable if you planned to use it to drive a linear amplifier in AM mode.
