[Johnson] Those long screws & paint

Do it the easy way.....order these like I did...they work great.

Suitable replacement bolts are available cheap from McMaster
Carr. http://www.mcmaster.com/

Valiant: Part number 99117A610
              Description: 14" Zinc-plated pan-head 10-24 thread
              $10.22 for a pack of 5

Ranger: Part number 99117A590
              Description 12" Zinc-plated pan-head 10-24 thread.
              $9.53 for a pack of 5
Ranger requires about 11.5" rod length, so you will
need to cut approximately 1/2" off

Note: These are combo standard / phillips pan-head bolts. So they
won't work for the purists out there looking for a standard only head
replacement like the original. I use these on my Valiant and
Rangers. Pack of 5 allows you to loose one (Valiant) or two (Ranger)
and still be in the game!

The thread is 10x24. Threaded steel rod is avail be at most hardware
stores. Then you put what is called a steel header post on the one end
of the threaded rod after cutting it to length. The header posts come
in various lengths. You can pick the length you like best.
