[Johnson] Those long screws & paint

No, you didn't miss anything, that was the first post on the subject. 
Thought I had something further on the recent paint thread but I decided 
I needed further research and forgot to change the subject line.

Rangers and other Johnson transmitters have eleven-inch long screws 
inserted into the back of the cabinet which hold the cabinet to the 
front panel.  I don't know the screw thread specs, but I had a specimen 
to try at the hardware store.
