[Johnson] Those long screws & paint

So I decided that if I was going to repaint this thing, it was time to
do something about those long screws.
Mine came with only one, so I ginned up some threaded brass rod with cap
nuts and finishing washers. This worked fine but of course they didn't
look right. The long screws are on Ebay for about three for $25 plus $7
shipping. Not a chance.
I took my one stock screw down to Maryville Hardware & Fastener. The
guy didn't quite laugh but I asked him about something I'd imagined I'd
seen somewhere. That is, a pan head with an internall thread to take
the threaded rod. He knew exactly what I was talking about and had a
selection. They come with a screw and matching female piece for about
$1.25 each in the length I bought. My only complaint is that they're
combination head instead of slot which seems to be universal these days.
He told me what they were called, but I'm embarrassed to say I've
forgotten already. He did say that they were used in place of rivets.
