At a full service hobby store that carries plastic stock in various sizes
and colors, you can buy a package of white dowel in the proper size. I know
because I bought a package for the same purpose. Cuts easily with a knife
of saw and then glues into the hole. Perfect fit and no painting.

At most hardware stores you can buy a dowel rod, 3 ft long, 1/8 inch wide.

Spray the dowel rod white.

Then with a sharp knife like a utility knife cut the dowel rod in lengths of
5/16 inch.

Dab a little Elmer's glue on the end and stick it into the know hole.

Paint the end of the dowel rod pointer with "Quick Dry Wite Out"

You have enough dowel rod for all the Johnson equipment for a life time. Hi

Peace and 73,
