[Johnson] VFO-122 to Adventurer help needed

Have you tried reversing the input cable? There is a definite possibility that your particular transmitter has the crystal socket wired backwards.

Also, is the VFO running when you key the transmitter? The VFO has to be in operation before you key the transmitter.

I am trying to connect the VFO-122 to the Adventurer without much luck. I have made the recommended changes that the Adventurer manual suggests as well as the VFO-122 but I seem to get no recognition between the rigs.

The VFO is working on all bands, I can hear its signal when I key it up alone. The Adventurer works when I plugged in a crystal but when I plug in the vfo cable, ground side up, key either in the VFO or the Adventurer nothing happens.

I have been messing with this for about a month or so and am at a dead end. Any help would be most appreciated.
