I totally agree abt adding fuses. Years ago, several different surplus
places were offering 120V-rated micro fuses in little radial-lead plastic
little cylinders < 1/4" diameter & slightly > 1/4" in length (not counting
the two small leads) and 1/4W resistor-sized fuses also rated for 120VAC. I
bought various amperages, but mainly I liked 1A, because they were so easy
to put somewhere internally into things like the EFJ T/R Switch for example.
They are not there for anything less than catastrophic failure prevention.
You choose the fuse such that it surely will not blow in normal operation,
but a dead-short will snap it right away.
