[Johnson] Policy on this reflector regarding items for sale

I agree that Bruce has a good point regarding the content of the message
given the list. Obviously Johnson gear would be fine but the problem
occurs as to how far the variety is stretched. For example I might be
interested in FS or FA items such as 4-400A or 810 tubes which would go
with my Johnson Desk KW. But then what about audio filters or sideband
slicers commonly used with vintage receivers that are used with Johnson
gear? I think that this is a case of the camel getting its nose in the
tent (or the slippery slope or catchphrase of your choice).

For simplicity I would prefer that for the list we stick strictly with
items covered by that list so for the Johnson list if it doesn't say
Johnson on it then it probably would be considered spam by many list
members. I filter out a lot but since there are auction and for sale
items that interest many of us just filtering on FA and/or FS is not a
great choice.

Finally, to put this in perspective it could be much worse. I remember
a couple of the lists I belong to had an issue a few months ago after a
member had left his place of employment and every time a list message
went out it triggered the email robot at his former employer to send out
its canned "John Doe ain't here no mo" message.
