I have two SX-28's I would like to sell. First offered to the list and
failing that will be Ebay. I will list what has already been done to both
receivers and what needs to be yet done. The will be listed as number one
and two and both will come with a PM-23 speaker cleaned and repainted in a
match to both cabinets.

#1
Face plate cleaned and re-lettered and looks great. All paper and
electrolitic caps replaced except in the Rf section. Some resistors replace
but not all. New dial cords on the pointers. Controls cleaned. Chassis clean
and still covered with funguside. Cabinet cleaned and straightened and
repainted a gray hammertone color that looks great and matches the pm-23
speaker. New non original speaker pins. New non original feet. Dial lock is
original but the arm on it is not but is about the same size and looks very
good. Main tuning dial is cracked but at the extreme low end of the bands
where Am is not found and was glued with superglue and appearance is
acceptable. As is found on some sx-28A's, the face plate says sx-28 but it
is a sx-28a with the square tuning coils and the fuse holder on the top of
the chassis. The appearance of the radio and cabinet is excellent. The
bottom cover is there and the cover going over the RF section is new
galanized steel made by me and looks very good. Knobs are in good condition.
Some screws mounting the chassis to the cabinet are missing and need to be
replaced. The Reciever is currently working well on the BC band and the
lower HF bands but loses sensitivity on the higher bands but is working
there. All controls work as they should.

#2
Face plate cleaned and re-lettered and looks great. All paper and
electrolitic caps replace including RF section. Many resistors replaced but
not all. New dial cords on pointers. Controls cleaned. Chassis cleaned and
looks very nice. No rust and no funguside. Face plate says sx-28a and
chassis is sx-28a. Cabinet cleaned and straightened and repainted a gray
hammertone that matches the Pm-23 speaker that comes with it. Original dial
lock complete. Two bottom covers there. One for the bottom of the chassis
and one for the bottom of the cabinet. Knobs in very good condition. Most
chassis to cabinet mounting screws are missing and need replacements. All
controls work as they should. Receiver is working but very low sensitivity
on the BC band and will only pick up the very strongest stations and on
higher frequencys, though working, the sensitivity is so low little or no
stations can be heard. The appearance of the Receiver is great and
everything is done but to trouble shoot the senstivity problem.

Receiver #1 with matching speaker $375
Receiver #2 with matching speaker $425
Shipping on both including the speaker $150.00 Refund if less. No futher
charge if more.
Reason for selling both these great looking receivers is they are just to
heavy for me to be moving around. Old age eventually sets in and to many
lighter projects are awaiting and I want to see that both these receivers
get a good home instead of sitting in the garage getting dusty. Email me
direct if you need to see pictures or are interested at

I may have manuals but Im not sure. If so they will be included as well.
