[Johnson] Breaking the 500 ohm audio out of a Viking II

Hi All,
    I wish to use my Viking II as an exciter for a homebrew transmitter
which also requires a speech amplifier.  I am aware of the instructions in
the manual on how to do this.

Has anyone done this modification?
