I remember my Apache/SB10 days in the 1970s well, as the carrier null pots would run warm, and eventually I would get comments about having a weak carrier in the background. I tweaked those pots at least a few times every QSO. I never heard that my audio sounded bad, just that there was a residual carrier. It was a good reason to get rid of the SB10, so I thought.
