[Johnson] FOR SALE: EF Johnson Thunderbolt

For Sale:  Johnson Thunderbolt. Photocopy of manual.  Needs the new 
Peter Dahl screen/bias transformer that I bought wired.  Transformer is 
already installed.  Previous owner Dale W4BIM SK.  I was there when the 
original said transformer packed up and smoked while working 15 meters.  
I offered, Dale accepted and it came home with me.  New cabinet computer 
matched auto paint sprayed on cabinet after I purchased it.  Front panel 
is very good. Original knobs and meters.  Extra 120 vac internal cooling 
fan installed but can be taken out easily.  HV transformer resistance 
checks with a Simpson 260 and also a Wavetek 27XT in factory specs.  
Heavy as lead so I prefer local pickup.  Have extra set of 4-400's. Have 
original keying plug for socket on rear of chassis.  Have the Johnson 
attenuator box from another purchase but it is for the Valiant or 
Viking.  xx50-42-3.  Attenuator will have to be electrically configured 
for a Ranger. 

Reason for sale:  Lost interest aka too many other projects such as 
honey do chores and traveling to see grandchild (wife now retired),  I 
am too old to be electrocuted by a boatanchor my bride tells me, my out 
back radio shack's foundation can't take anymore iron dead weight,  doc 
tells me I can't take anymore ham radio related Ibuprofen from moving 
the heavy stuff......you get the picture.  I'd really like to be able to 
give her a good home (no, not my bride) so that it can heat up the 
ethers once more. 

Price:  $375 firm with the extra pair of 4-400's and attenuator box.  I 
do not wish to haggle on this one as I am losing at this price with the 
purchase of the new Peter Dahl transformer and then some.  It's just 
time for this fella to move on.
