I recently received the new edition of the Antique Electronic Supply
Catalog. Looking at electrolytic capacitors, I see three different
suppliers of 80uF at 450V axial capacitors; Sprague Atom @ $7.65, F&T @ $5.55,
and Illinois Capacitor @ $4.55. No temperate rating is give for the F&T.
This is a common value I use for replacement in old power supplies. Does
anyone have any hard data on relative quality rating among the three
manufacturers? I know Sprague is the old line name and I have been using
them, but at 60% of the cost is there any reason I shouldn't use the ICW
capacitors?
