There is a couple of choices:
 
1) Automotive rubbing compound followed with a cleaner/ wax. Not the more  
common type on the market now recommended for today's basecoat- clearcoat; try  
to find a cleaner/ wax with compound in it for older acrylic or  lacquer type 
finishes.
 
2) If that didn't cut it, this should work: Wet sand with 1000/ 1500/ 2000  
grit "wet or dry" automotive type aluminum oxide paper and polish with  Novus 3 
step system.
