Steve,
I believe the proper Barret-Jackson terminology would
be "Resto-Mod" I like this term and think it applies
well to what alot of us do to our old boatanchors that
are not museum quality. That is restore the unit to be
fully functional and then modify it to add in some of
the performance capabilities that may have not been
available or simply overlooked when the rig was first
developed. TX Mods may include improved audio
fidelity, solid state power supplies with inrush surge
limiters, larger filter caps which will be physically
smaller than the old electrolytics and yet be higher
in capacitance and just plain better components...
thinking of all the paper caps and carbon comp
resistors I had to change out in my Ranger.
