Harry and list,
The shunts in most Johnson transmitters are just a piece of nichrome
resistance wire, usually 1/4 inch long or less and not insulated. It will
not look like a regular resistor but just a piece of bare wire, in
construction Johnson cut (or had the builder cut in home constructed units)
a certain length and solder it in place. This is one of the reasons Johnson
shunts are so far off in many units. I replace them with "real" precision
resistors from Mouser.
