Still too much power from the driver. The pair of 3-500's take about 100
watts or so to drive to full power, around 1500 watts out. You would need to
reduce the output of the valiant to around 25 watts carrier out in order not
to overdrive the 3-500's.

If you really want to run an amp like that or the thunderbolt a nice driver
would be a single 6146 modulated by a pair of 6AQ5's. That should be plenty
for a thunderbolt. It would make a nice little project.
