[Johnson] Thunderbolt and Valiant

Larry, I know what you mean as I have been there and still stuck....for seveal years. For me, there is not much advantage in using a Valiant and T-Bolt together. There is a fellow ham that produces the attenuator for such, or maybe the Ranger. Fellas, correct me. I have a Ranger here and the T-Bolt, but I have just been happy with my Valiant and 32V-2. To tell you the truth, I retired a few years ago, and finally gave this old boy a gift. 756ProIII that I have paired up with my IC-2KL and AT-500. One of the reasons I got the ProIII is because of the excellent AM it (re)produces. No flames please. But at my age, when I want some easy power, I just use the sandstate stuff, and no one has noticed while on the air that the station online is absent of glow bottles. Don't get me wrong, if I were 20 years younger (dream on, Rob) I'd tackle the beast. I have it (T-Bolt) and an Eldico SSB-1000 linear (which will do our favorite mode FB purchased for the 32V-2) just setting on the dolly carts in the garage. Tetrode linears just don't like to easily dance with 100 watts AM rigs especially in Florida summers. <grin>

My two cents.
