   Chuck:
   Thanks  for your input.  I have considered going this route but am not
   as  fanatic  as  some  regarding making the transmitter look "new".  I
   have  three  EFJ  radios;  Navigator,  Ranger  and 500.  All have been
   modified  for performance not restored to original.  So the attempt at
   touching up the cabinets and front panels is not as important to me as
   it  may be to others.  I want them to look as nice as possible without
   radical intervention.

     I  have  restored  a number of Valiants over the past two years and
     have  quite a few to go.  Unfortunately, no two have the same shade
     of  maroon.   I  finally  gave  up  trying  to  match  them and now
     completely  strip and refinish the cabinet with a custom mixed base
     coat/claer  coat  just  like  they  do  cars  today.  The result is
     stunning.
