Your points are well taken. Ummm, the dilema I face is that I want to both operate this ol' venable amp, and yet keep it as original as possible. Already I've already encounted the suggestion that I encase any ol' caps I replace with the cases of the original caps, and that's not too hard since the now available caps are so much smaller in diameter from the originals, phew.

For now I'm gonna go for 'getting it on the air' to finish my 2m VUCC and 6m WAC, VUCC, and DXCC ( I already did the 6M WAS and VUCC), but I don't want to ruin this fine ol' vintage 6n2 amp  for the next owner, since I'm sure I'll pass on b4 it will, heheheh...

Now that I can afford Johnson, I'm  trying to be careful for the nextGen,
