I'm just now getting into Johnson equipment. What little I know seems to indicate that this renowned for robust equipment mfg had a time of trouble with the Plate Voltage Supply Transformers in their Thunderbolt amplifier series. Peter Dahl even carries the replacements, both original and hipersil, in stock!
I want to know more about the failure mode, please. Overheating? Shorting, opening . . .
I've one that's bad, and am fighting with trying to rewind it myself (as soon as I find where I stashed the fish paper for a rainy day) or to scrap a bad design and go ruin originality and put in a Dahl hypersil.
Anyone I can help w/ pics or ??? of the HF and 6N2 T-Bolt amps, email me - be sure to but something in the subject line of the email that will tell me it's not for the SPAM folder, eh?
