Obviously a thremal issue causing make/break contact somewhere. Could
be something simple like a corroded riveted ground connection, cold
solder joint, maybe even expansion around the tube pins. I'd check to
be sure all of the obvious connections are clean and tight, then move
to the less obvious. Have you taken voltage readings before, during,
and after? Probably as good a plce to start as anywhere. It might even
be two different issues in different places.
