Don't put it past small children to plug things in, especially if they've
seen Dad do it. Get one of those miniature padlocks meant for diaries and
jewelry boxes, and lock it through the hole in one blade of the plug.

When my daughter was three she removed the cord from the back of a TV set
and stuck a pair of tweezers in the cheater. She got off with a singed
nose, wet pants, and two very scared parents. Honest - it lit up the whole
house.

If they can, they will.
