[Johnson] Viking II Mod.

I am trying to identify this modification to my recently aquired
Viking II.  Any help would be appreciated.  I appeal to the collective
wisdom here to identify it.  It is mounted
above the xtal sockets, there is a pot and a 12AU7A tube.
