10 brownie points to each of you who can actually read.
and -10 to the guy who sent me to BAMA !
(if their stupid obsolete program worked, would I complain about it ? !! )
Now.... kvetching aside...
Here's what I found out:
The early Rangers circa 1954... the ones without the Keyer Tube and 6AL5
bias rectifier .... also didn't have a set of 150v taps either side of
center tap on the power transformer.
Newer Rangers circa 1958 did have both the 150v taps and the bias/keyer
stock.
In between those versions... Johnson made a keyer with dropping resistors in
it ( 2 legs of 3 each 82K 1 watt resistors in paralell) ... this was powered
straight from the low voltage DC at the 6AX5 rectifier.
Otherwise, the circuits are the same.
The other twist is that the Bias may or may not be supplied to the
modulator. In my case it was not.
In other vesions it might be possible to find the modulator bias was
connected, but the keyer tube wasnt.

I have drawn the schematic for this if anybody needs it.
