[Johnson] Is there a Ranger Keyer/Bias Version Between 1954 and 1958 ?

Basics:

I have following manualsand schematics:

1954 Ranger Schematic..... no 12AU7 keyer tube and no V-14 6AL5 Bias
Rectifier (cathode keying and mod bias resistor)
1958 RangerSchematic... has added plate by VFO with 12AU7 and
6AL5..supplying bias to modultor and keying circuit.

My Odd Ranger Problem :

I just got a ranger, which has plate mounted by the VFO...with the Keyer
and Bias Tubes...
BUT... the modulator retains the old cathode resistor bias from the 1954
version... ..and the keyer doesnt match the schematic from 1958... despite
being obviously original.

So what I have is a keyer, with a bunch of 2 watt resistors in a divider
network that has nothig to do with the schematic of 1958.... and a 6AL5 bias
rectifier... without the voltage divider to provide -28v modulator bias...
only keyer bias.

In other words.. I've got no docs on this apparent intermediate version of
the keyer/bias supply.

Anybody got any ideas...

Please dont refer me to BAMA... I cant download anything off that *&O:LRLF
!!! thing !

Is it worth the trouble to re-wire this to the newer specs... ?
(somewhat hard to do without the proper diagram for this version )
