My Johnson Invader 200 will be going on the air today after about 6 months
of intermittent bench work.

I bought it on eBay as an estate find back in the summer.  When it arrived
it appeared to be in acceptable condition.  That observation was short
lived.  After replacing the electrolytic capacitors, running some resistance
checks for shorts in the power circuits, and replacing the line cord, I
fired it up.  No output on any band.  After a lot of bench work that proved
to be very frustrating and with invaluable consultation provided by N7NB, I
reached the end of my knowledge with the rig still not working.  N7NB then
took over and located the primary source of the problem, which turned out to
be a bad driver tuning coil and got it working and aligned.

I have no idea what could have happened to this rig to have caused it to
have so many problems in what appeared to be an acceptable piece of
equipment.

Cosmetic work will come later.  For now I will be using it on the bands.
