In a word--NO. When you fuse both sides of the line, you're very
likely to blow the neutral
fuse, and leave the hot one intact. With your open neutral, you still give
your transmitter the path
back to the neutral in the service panel because all service equipment has
the neutral bonded to the
ground conductor. THAT gives you a wonderful shock hazard, without having
the transmitter working,
which is why it is a VIOLATION of the NEC. Not smart or safe.
