[Johnson] Fuse blowing Johnson Ranger l

Plugged my newly acquired Johnson Ranger l into AC and
instantly blew a fuse.The power switch was off so it
seems that the short is somewhere before the power
switch. The Ranger was working when I looked at it at
seller's home so something must have moved in transit
to my shack.

Upon inspection, I see that there is no strain relief
insulator in the chassis for the AC cord. Someone
merely installed a grommet in the power cord hole and
ran the power cord through it. Haven't opened the
chassis yet, but I suspect that the cord has moved
around inside the chassis and somehow shorted to
ground.

Any thoughts or suggestions about what the gremlin
