[Johnson] Another Valiant Newby question

It has been suggested to me that the Valiants are not happy at very low 
power output levels, thus are not the best choice to use as exciters for 
high-power amplifiers...


   I'd be interested to know of other's experience in this regard.




   And, from the excellent advice previously, I'm going to re-cap the grid 
circuit (as long as it's on the bench) and buy some doorknobs for the tank 
capacitances - I'm sure that the little ceramics are way over their 
acceptable Df limits... even if they are 6KV units.
