[Johnson] Amp advice

Being that you sent the amp info request to a Johnson
and the AM radio listservers, I take it that implies
you want to operate this amplifier on amplitude
modulation, correct? If this is the case, I think the
suggest way to use an amp on AM is to determine its
operating output (in PEP), divide by 4  (or 3, I
forgot which) and drive the amp out to that figure and
operated on AM. 

This is because the amp now not only has to amplify
the single signal as before (be it CW or SSB) but it
has to amplify the carrier and the two sidebands. 

Other than that, clean up the equipment of its
"construction defectoria" and do normal inspection
prior to putting on the air. They sound like
relatively new equipment. FWIW. Cal, N6KYR/8.
