Yep, De-Oxit D5 works great but is best applied sparingly as it can
cause older phenolic wafers to swell, rending the switch useless. The
sell applicator pens that dispense only a drop at a time and can get
into tight spots pretty well. I use the spray can set to low, and
saturate a Q-Tip or whatever else may fit the bill (sometimes coarse
paper), then use it to clean the contact.
They (Caig) also make something called Cailube, which is excellent for
cleaning and lubricating potentiometers.
