The the rubber coating is not original, they could be originals that
somebody coated. More likely they where changed out.
I'll bet I know why. Somebody in this Viking's past was getting RF burns
off of it for any of a number of reasons.
This is one of the fascinating things about this kind of equipment the
stories they tell.
