This has really got things stirred up. It's a fun thread.

But now ... I will go so far as to say one of the best sounding radios had 
to be the stock Ranger. I know people have modified them, but stock -- they 
still sound better than average, in my view. In fact, i think stock Rangers 
beat the pants off of stock Viking 2s, from what I have heard on the air. Am 
I wrong?

I really don't know much about the Valiants. Sure wish I oned one! Any 
comments on the Valiant audio compared to a Ranger??
