There was a article in an issue of Electric radio about rewinding transformers. I can't find the issue but as I recall the writer built a wire jig with a counter to record the number of windings laid down on the core. The wire, and paper is avaiable from any electric motor rebuild shop. I called the one here in Cheyenne and the wire is sold by the pound. The proccess didn't look too difficult once he had the winding jig built. The Peter Dahl unit is going to cost at least 300 dollars. Once you had this jig set up rewinding any tranformer wouldn't be a big problem and the jig would more then pay for it's self on the first use.
