Don't know where you're getting your info from but both  Johnson catalog
965 and manual say the Valiant II covers 160 to 10 meters.
Valiant weighs 73 pounds; dimensions: 21" wide X 11 5/8"  high X 16 1/4"
deep.
Valiant II weighs 73 pounds; dimensions: 21" wide X 11 1/2"  high X 14"
deep.
glen covered the major differences between the two models.

I had both here for awhile. Sold the Valiant II. On AM, no difference in
performance between the Valiant II and the Valiant.

ps Ranger II did cover 160 to 6 meters
