The size is the same and the weight is the same.

The "paint job" is different on the II and, if I
remember correctly, the II has an "improved" keying
circuit.  Also, the II works directly with the Johnson
SSB adapter whereas the I has to be slightly modified.

There may be some other changes, but I have never
owned a Valiant II and it has been quite a while since
I worked on one.

However, in general, the two models are very similar.
